Space

Jennifer Manfre presented a fun project on Space. It was a project she found in the book Dynamic Art Projects for children. She does this project with fourth grade. We loved it!

Hi there,
I am a casual primary teacher in Australia and would love to try this with a year 3/4 class. Are you able to provide a little more info as to how you went about teaching this / method etc?
I'm assuming watercolour paint on white cardboard, cut out in planet shapes and stuck to black cardboard?

Thanks so much for any advice. It looks great.

I have tried to access the book referenced: Dynamic Art Projects for children but hard to find near me.

We used chalk pastels on the planets, white paint on the background.

It was back construction paper and white drawing paper.

Ah, didn't think to try chalk pastels! I have just done a trial to use as an example using watercolour.
Thanks so much for your prompt response. I am glad I stumbled upon your blog. It will be very useful.
